If you’re listening to Demi Lovato’s new album non-stop like we are, you may have noticed a certain vocal appearance on one very catchy breakup anthem. With her unmistakable British accent, it’s difficult to miss Cher Lloyd on “Really Don’t Care” — rapping, no less. What was your favorite part about singing with Demi on “Really Don’t Care”? What was it like teaming up with Ne-Yo? How will your second album be different from the first (“Sticks & Stones”)? How would you describe yourself in high school? Who inspired you growing up? If you could collaborate with any artist, who would it be? |

Grammy Award winning singer Ne-Yo and platinum-selling artist Cher Lloyd are together in the music studio. What are these two music dynamos up to? Lloyd and Ne-Yo are discussing fan submissions as they begin to write an original song inspired by fans sharing their “It’s All Good” moment in celebration of the new Fruttare Fruit Bars launch. Lloyd broke away for a few minutes from her songwriting with fans and Ne-Yo to talk to me a little about her upcoming album release and her September 2013 concert tour. Catherine Garvin: What is the name of your new album? Cher Lloyd: Umm, I’m still working on that so I haven’t picked the name of the new album yet. Garvin: How has your style, sound, confidence evolved? Lloyd: I’ve grown up in the past couple of years, I’m now more able to take risks and I feel confident about who I am and with my style. Garvin: On your tour of the US will Cher be in Portland, Oregon? West coast? Dates? Lloyd: Unfortunately, I won’t be in Portland this year, but you can visit my website to find out about more of my show dates. Garvin: So, Cher, your songs are often upbeat, great songs to work out to and get ready for a fun night out to, what’s on your playlist? Lloyd: Nicki Minaj and Kid Cudi are always on my playlist. Garvin: What’s one ‘Wonky’ thing about America that surprised Cher? Lloyd: The high curbs. You have to step up to get out of your car. It’s weird. Garvin: What locations are you most excited about to visit on your summer tour through the US? Lloyd: I’m excited about being on stage this summer, seeing the fans is always great. This summer my collaboration with Ne-Yo will be coming out and we are performing it at the iHeart Radio Music Festival in September. I think the ingredients to a great summer song is something you hear on the radio and immediately turn it up and want to dance to it. This is what Ne-Yo and I are hoping to create with the help of our fans as they continue to tweet, post on Facebook and use Instagram to tell us their “It’s All Good” moment. Garvin: As a London native but spending more time here in the US, what London and US styles are you coveting and incorporating into your personal repertoire? Lloyd: I spent so much time here that I have picked up so many of the US trends. A comfy cardigan is a must-have for me. Garvin: What celebrity looks do you love and why? Lloyd: Gwen Stefani and Selena Gomez. Because Gwen is so quirky and Selena always has fun with shapes but also looks sophisticated at the same time. If music fans in Portland want to inspire a song by Ne-Yo and Cher Lloyd you still have time. Here’s how to inspire the song, Ne-Yo and Cher are asking fans to share what keeps them looking on the bright side on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram using #itsallgood through May 20, 2013. Visit www.Facebook.com/Fruttare for more information and #itsallgood. SOURCE: Examiner |
